The Phoenix Team
The Phoenix represents the collective expertise of an exceptionally
talented team of professionals experienced in the development and construction
of luxury residences and hotels.
The
Keating Organization, led by Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer Daniel J. Keating, III, revitalized the former Insurance
Company of North America (INA) building, converting the stately Georgian
Revival Tower into 267 luxury condo residences overlooking Philadelphia’s
beautiful Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Philadelphia native Daniel J. Keating, III, had an affinity for the building
situated grandly at 1600 Arch Street, and seized the opportunity to invest in
a vibrant and emergent neighborhood. Keating believes that the future of Philadelphia
is in the downtown core, in particular, the world-renowned Parkway Arts District
of Logan Square. His goal—to raise condominium living to new heights by
combining the convenience of location with a building of impeccable style, where
discerning residents enjoy a distinctive lifestyle, and the simple pleasures
of home. Keating maintains a residence at The Phoenix, and has made the building
home to his corporate headquarters. His passion for the National Historic Landmark
is reflected in his everyday management and oversight of the facility. “The
building is not about a moment in time,” says Keating, “it’s
about a lifetime of pride and memories.”
Keating selected Philadelphia firm Bower Lewis Thrower (BLTA) as the architect
of record for The Phoenix. BLTA has extensive experience in adaptive reuse of
historic properties, including the celebrated conversion of the PSFS Building
into the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. BLTA’s design for The Phoenix condo
embraced the Landmark’s long history, a design brought to fruition by gifted
stonemasons and craftsmen. One cannot deny the artistic skill and aesthetic sophistication
that resulted. Keating’s construction and development team bridged the
historic charm of the building with modern elegance, transforming the Philadelphia
Landmark into a residential condominium that cannot be rivaled.
The Keating Organization, through its affiliate, manages multiple class “A” luxury
homes throughout the country. Keating is consistently ranked among the “Top
U.S. Contractors and Construction Managers” by Engineering News Record
Magazine, and is nationally recognized for superior residential, hospitality
and construction project successes, including the Hyatt Philadelphia at Penn’s
Landing, the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Hotel Sofitel,
Tropicana Hotel and Casino and Bally’s Park Place “Wild Wild West” Casino.
Few companies possess the reputation for excellence that Keating enjoys.
